Given more than three decades of experience in the academic, corporate and not-for-profit arenas, most of that at senior management or Executive levels, I have garnered the insights, skills and experience to be able to assist other organizations with selected projects.
One glance at my resume will confirm the old adage that “the only thing that remains the same is change”. The organizations I have worked for have been in a constant state of flux and change, whether that was at the program level, the management level, governance level or even at the level of the whole organization.
I have marshalled new strategic plans, led governance reviews, overseen and implemented dramatic program redesigns and re-deployments and have participated in significant structural changes as a result. I have helped to form new organizations, built new consortia and forged new and productive partnerships. In the ultimate test of change management I have led, from an executive staff level, the total integration of one mature and storied organization into another.
Yet through all of these change processes, I have built and maintained loyal and high-functioning staff teams and have guided colleagues through often tumultuous changes without loss of productivity and more importantly without loss of morale and without turnover of key players, whether staff or volunteer.
I have done this via an honest and forthright approach, by open and frequent communication, by leading by example, by listening to colleagues’ concerns and by treating everyone at every level with dignity and respect.
